A civilisation unlike any other

The Kalash people are extraordinary — their culture, festivals and way of life are unlike anything else in Pakistan or the world. Visit during Joshi festival in May for the most colourful experience. Incredibly warm and welcoming people.

Hidden treasure of Pakistan

Not many tourists make it to Chitral, which makes the Kalash Valleys feel genuinely undiscovered. The valley itself is beautiful and the cultural experience is profound. Be respectful of their customs.

Accessible but time-consuming

Chitral requires a flight or long mountain drive. But it is absolutely worth it. Stay at least 2–3 days. The local food is delicious — try the Kalash wine and honey.
