Underrated masterpiece of Pakistan

More people should visit Rohtas Fort. The scale is astonishing — 4 km of continuous walls and the Shishi Gate is one of the most beautiful gateways in all of South Asia. Less crowded than Lahore Fort. Hire a guide to understand its complex history.

The fort that was never conquered

The strategic genius of Sher Shah Suri is evident everywhere here. The fort merges seamlessly with the natural rocky landscape. Visit in early morning when light catches the stone work beautifully.
