The Badshahi Mosque (Emperor's Mosque) was built by the last great Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb Alamgir in 1673 and is one of the largest and most beautiful mosques in the world. With a capacity of 55,000 worshippers in its courtyard and 10,000 inside the main prayer hall, it was the largest mosque in the world for 313 years until 1986.
