Hunza Valley
Verified FeaturedAbout Hunza Valley
One of the most breathtaking valleys in the world, Hunza sits at 2,438 metres in the Karakoram range. Surrounded by Rakaposhi (7,788m), Ultar Sar (7,388m) and Bojahagur Duanasir II (7,329m), the valley is famous for its pink cherry blossoms in spring, ancient Baltit and Altit forts, the longevity of its people (the Hunzakuts), and the turquoise Hunza River. The Karakoram Highway — the 8th wonder of the world — passes directly through.

Heaven on Earth!
I have travelled to 15 countries and Hunza is hands down the most beautiful place I have ever seen. The Baltit Fort at sunset, cherry blossoms, and the view of Rakaposhi — absolutely magical. Must visit at least once in a lifetime!
Pakistan's Crown Jewel
Spent 5 days in Hunza — it felt like 5 hours. The people are incredibly hospitable, the food is fresh, the air is clean. Baltit and Altit forts are architectural masterpieces. Eagle's Nest viewpoint is indescribable.
Stunning but requires planning
Roads are good now via KKH. Best to visit in April for cherry blossoms or September for clear mountain views. Some hotels can be expensive in peak season. The horse riding was a highlight for my kids!
Rakaposhi view changed my life
Woke up at 5am to see Rakaposhi at sunrise from our hotel. I cried. Nothing prepares you for how majestic it is. The local apricots, mulberries and dried fruits are also amazing to bring home.
