Skardu is the gateway to the world's mightiest mountains — K2 (8,611m), Broad Peak, Gasherbrum I & II — all accessible from here. At 2,228 metres above sea level in Gilgit-Baltistan, Skardu is surrounded by the Karakoram Range and the Indus River.
